Local residents action

If you are a local resident; please write to your local mayor; council.

  • There are hundreds of climbers living and working around the Grampians, and as many again at Natimuk / nearby Mt Arapiles.
  • These locals contribute significantly to the local economy, and if climbers are unwelcome, will have little reason to continue to live and work in the area.
  • The climbing ban implemented by Parks Victoria is on a scale that is unprecedented in Australia and is extremely concerning to me as a local resident.
  • The Grampians and Mt Arapiles are regarded as offering some of the best rock climbing in the world, and we are confident it can continue in a sustainable manner.
